Windows 10 Pro is a dead end for companies according to Gartner analyst and Windows expert Stephen Kleynhans. This has been observed due to the recent changes in Microsoft's planned support.
As per Kleynhans, "Microsoft will continue to observe Windows 10 Pro as a release which is not suitable for businesses by decreasing support and limiting access to business management functions."
Windows 10 Pro is a version between consumer versions Home and Enterprise. Manufacturers use the Pro version on their business-oriented systems because Windows 10 Enterprise is not available for them.
Last year, Microsoft announced extended support of six months for Windows 10 1511 to help some early users of enterprise in completing their transition to Windows-as-a-service. Again last February, Microsoft added versions 1609, 1703 and 1709 to that list because the usual support of 18 months was not enough for some customers.
However, the extension to 24 months only applies to Windows 10 Enterprise and Education version. It does not apply to Pro. This shows Pro is a dead end street for most firms. Users who are currently using Windows 10 using Pro should stay updated on Microsoft's announcements about the Windows 10 lifecycle.
